Previous Trip - Pulau Redang (30May2010 ~ 1June2010)

Pulau Redang revisited , 7 years later ( 30 May 2010 ~ 1 June 2010 )

Feeling strange , 7 years later visit to Pulau Redang again . My previous visited was on 2003 with my school mate , and now i visit with Wang's family , it is outstanding that i can getting more fun with them. The drive took a little less than 7 hours. As our boat does not leave till past 9 am, we ended up having to spend over 1.5 hours at Kuala Terengganu for breakfast. Should have left at perhaps 12:00am instead to optimize the journey and catch more sleep prior.

8am , We reached Merang Jetty.

Boat load of people being herded to the resort registration counter like sheep by hounds, tractors hauling your luggage. loud PA system announcing snorkeling time on 2pm . Before that i having a small sleep after lunch , since didn't sleep at night because of driving car.

1st snorkeling Trip.

Chit-chat on boat .

It is quite happy and "GAN JIONG" when on the way to Marine Park .

Photo we taken on the sea.

Someone feel so scary when taking this photo shot because cant step on floor. haha ...

Look at these fish , beautiful ...

Hey !! My eyes looking where ???

Drinking beer at lounge .

This is our nightlife . 1 hours later i drunk , surrender and back to sleep.

Farewell ...

Enjoy brand new fun , even after back from holiday still can imagine the time we enjoy together.
Miss it so much !!

The Damaged : Rm 450 per person , price included transport , marine park entry ticket , resort packaged and tools rental.

Sipadan Island

As one of the world’s best top dive destinations, Sipadan needs no further introduction amongst divers. Any diver who has the opportunity and fortune to dive at this internationally famed wall diving spot at the Celebes Sea will earn the reverence and envy of their not-so-fortunate diver friends.

Why the envy, you ask? Well, firstly, not everyone who heads to Sipadan will get to dive there. Due to conservation reasons, the Sipadan Marine Park authority imposed a restriction of 120 visitors per day to the island.

Secondly, the island is literally a turtle and shark haven. Green turtles, hawksbill, white tipped sharks, reef sharks and black tip sharks seemed to appear everywhere a diver chooses to look! More than 3,000 species of fish and hundreds of coral genera can be found there, making it a most diverse and beautiful diving site.

There are 12 dive popular sites to explore on this mushroom-shaped island with the best being Barracuda Point. It is a prominent feature in every visiting diver’s log book as there is an unspoken hope of encountering the breathtaking sight of the thousands of barracudas circling endlessly around them. No guarantees that you would get to see the school though and if you are very, very lucky, you may encounter the unique hammerhead sharks at cooler waters (which normally means deeper depths). In any case, chances of seeing bumphead parrotfish early in the morning and schools of jacks in the day are pretty good. The corals, sea fans and sponges that decorate the wall are lovely to see. At shallower depths, you will encounter green turtles and jacks.

Currents range from mild to strong, which is great news to fans of drift-diving but be sure to stick close to the reef so that you don’t get swept away out to the wide ocean.

The Drop Off is another popular site which gets its name because a 9.14 metre stroll on the beach is all it takes before one drops off into a 600 metre underwater abyss. The wall has an amazing variety of fans, corals and sponges with interesting tiny creatures making their homes there. Jacks, grey reef sharks, white tip sharks and large fishes also abound in this fascinating site.

The Turtle Cavern entrance is located about 22 meters down along the Drop Off wall. A resident giant grouper or two can normally be seen hovering about the entrance of this famed final resting place for turtles.

Note: Permits must be applied in advance via travel agents and/or resort’s dive centres) and a levy of RM40 per person/day is payable to the resort. Since 2005, there are no resorts allowed on the island. Divers would need to reside at the resorts on the nearby islands of Mabul or Kapalai and make day trips to Sipadan.

The Damage : Estimate Will be RM 1508 / per person ( 3 D 2 N ) price included flight ticket , meals , land and sea transfer . Quite Expensive.

Kota Kinabalu - Sabah

The City of Kota Kinabalu is the capital of Sabah. Located on the west coast of “the Land Below the Wind”, under the watchful eye of majestic Mount Kinabalu, and on the fringes of the South China Sea, Kota Kinabalu is the bustling and colourful gateway to Sabah. Here you find the international airport, world class hotels, innumerable restaurants and cafĂ© shops, shopping malls and business districts. We call our fast developing and modern city with some 350,000 inhabitants simply and affectionately KK!

The state capital has many places of interest. It is a city popular with foreigners and locals alike, and the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, adjacent to the city is one of the top tourist destination, perfect for relaxing, snorkelling and a wide variety of watersports. Other places of interest include the Signal Hill Observatory, offering a bird’s view of the city; the Sabah Foundation Building - a unique 30-storey building (it is a circular structure supported by high tensile steel rods, an architectural and engineering marvel, and there are only four such buildings in the world; it is Sabah’s highest tower); the State Mosque, resplendent with its majestic domes and golden motifs is the central place of worship for KK's Muslim population; the new Likas Mosque, the largest in the state; and the Likas Bird Sanctuary.

The State Museum - based on the architecture of Murut and Rungus longhouses has several galleries exhibiting, among others, a cluster of human skulls from Sabah’s headhunting past, totemic figures, old photographs, valuable ancient pottery from all over South East Asia and antique Korans. In the Heritage Village of the museum you find numerous life-size replicas of the traditional houses of the many ethnic entities in Sabah.

The Sutera Harbour Resort, Marina and Golf Club is located at the south end of the city and has become a major landmark. The complex makes Kota Kinabalu an instant resort city: it comprises of two 5-star hotels, an international yacht club and an award winning golf course!

Major shopping malls are located along the main artery of Kota Kinabalu, and you find just about anything from branded goods to local handicraft. Recreational activities in KK include diving, a mere 15 minutes from the city in the crystal clear waters of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park! The ferries to the park leave from KK’s harbour district at the northern end of the City. Click on the links below to find out about more activities and places of interest when you are in Kota Kinabalu!

The Damage : Estimate Will Be RM 400 ++ / per person , price included hotel , flight ticket , car rental , meals and entry ticket.
